I died and gone to heaven!

If you know me personally, you might know I have one special love in my life, and that is Starbucks coffee. I set my first step in a Starbucks in Taiwan 7 years ago, and I am addicted ever since. From that day on it started to play a role in my life in an ever increasing way. When I was studying in Taiwan, I went there practically every day to get away from the hectical life, to study, or just be alone. Over there it has become a part of the culture, even though the Taiwanese don't drink that much coffee. You see students do their homework, hang out with friends or just read a book. You see businessmen (and women) have sales meetings there. And not just in Taiwan, but more or less in every Starbucks I have been in there is a special atmosphere, which is hard to describe. But the closest description we (me and YuMei) can give is like it's your living room when you are away from home. You can sit there for hours with just one cup of coffee, and no-one cares about that. Try that here in Holland.
And for all these years I have wondered why there wasn't a Starbucks here in Holland (yet). Just a few weeks ago I read somewhere, that it had something to do with one of the biggest coffee producers here in Holland (Douwe Egberts) having a monopoly on the sales of coffee or something like that. The one and only Starbucks here in Holland was the one in the Nike European Headquarters in Hilversum. UNTIL NOW!!!!! I was as happy as a kid, when I found out that there FINALLY is a Starbucks at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. So, can you believe it?? Two of my favorite places combined into one. Needless to say I already have ordered my first Dutch "Grande Cappucino". I do however really have to get used to ordering in Dutch!
